Skills 4 Scholar’s Award
The Skills 4 Scholar’s Award was created by the UKESF in partnership with Skills 4 and was open to female scholars entering their final year of university. The successful applicant received a place on Skills 4’s award-winning Career Development Programme.
EMPOWER – Career Development Programme
The EMPOWER – Career Development Programme was designed to help women further their career and has already encouraged over 8,000 women to advance professionally during the fourteen years since its inception. Normally delivered via a pre-course activity and four workshops over a period of three months, the programme reports that 97% of participants have a more proactive approach to career progression upon completion of the sessions, and 88% have higher levels of self-confidence.
The Skills 4 Award was open to female UKESF scholars entering their final year of university and on track for a 2:1 or above.
How to apply
All scholars are asked to complete the Annual Scholar Report form each autumn, which included a tick box to opt in to be considered for the award. The selection process took into account academic performance, feedback from placement, contribution to STEM and personal reflection.
