GO4SET
Go4SET is a 10-week engineering challenge for 12–14 year olds that develops professional skills and offers a fun, hands-on STEM experience in a real-world setting. Go4SET was developed by the UKESF in partnership with EDT.
HOW IT WORKS
A teacher must register their school’s team with EDT to be connected with a mentor at a company in the Electronics sector. The team select their project brief from a list of options and start work, supported by their mentor and EDT; they also have the opportunity to go on a company visit. Teams present their finished projects at regional finals, receiving feedback from a panel of industry professionals.
WHAT IT ACHIEVES
Go4SET engages schoolchildren with Electronics in an accessible way and raises their awareness of the study and career options that are open to them. The project develops professional skills such as project management, teamwork and giving presentations, as well as establishing relationships between schools and local companies.
