Today, we throw open the doors to welcome the first visitors to our new website. The UKESF is growing and expanding, so we wanted to create a site that reflected our brand and values. Beyond the contemporary look and feel, we hope you find the content engaging and informative. The new site is part of our strategy for moving beyond talk to tackle the skills shortage in the Electronics sector. To quote the ESCO Report:
“There is a real need to increase the number of bright young people considering careers in the Electronic Systems Community and a particular opportunity to address the gender imbalance. The industry needs to increase co-ordinated activity reviewing ways to ‘inform and excite’ young people about working in the industry.”
So this is what we are doing. It won’t be easy or happen quickly, but we’re determined to make a difference. We will be posting regular news and insights on this new site reflecting our growing programme of activities to encourage more young people to get involved with Electronics.
It would be remise of me not to thank my colleague Thursa and Bill from BHD Creative for all their work in developing and launching this website.
If you have any feedback, or ideas or want to get involved with the UKESF then we would be really pleased to hear from you. You can email us at [email protected].
